one of ... if not the nicest person in the league... little story about 'Mr. Jim' ... I wasnt quite 30... but I pull up behind a car stopped at a red light, in hunt valley... with a bumper sticker that reads 'I love Balto. Co. Over 30 Baseball' .... well .. its raining.. but I get out of my car... and knock on Jim's window... I think I freaked him out... but I had to know... what is this Over30Baseball stuff... he takes down my #... calls me that night... and I do what I have to do to get involved... this was before the Over30 website... so it was the phone and mail.... Jim is the man! Thanks Jim!

Hornz vs. Orioles

Another game this blogger doesnt get to participate in! ... of all the teams not be able to play. Hornz bats get some in the first... while JP holds the O's to one run thru 5 innings. Bake and SugarBear close it out for the win. Thanks to Keith Marchiano for the nice pics. I guess this was Owen's first baseball game!? He brought us some good luck... nice way to spend a nice day! Baseball and brother in law's wedding dont mix... priorities stink!... Well we play the Rocks this week.. cant wait!

Hornz bats wake up against the Marlin's ace -- who threw nice hard strikes... no camera again... this blog is not going so good... it's strength is visual ... not reporting. Good game fish... even tho I had to leave early... urghh.

Will we be rained out?... game time 10am Saturday... here are some pics from 5pm the night before... doesnt look good.... well it looks good for the dodgers... they'll still only be one game back tomorrow.

Hornz vs. Rangers

Rangers put up a fight late in the game ... scoring 3 in the 6th... but Hornz bats keep getting good cuts... up and down the line up. No pics... forgot the camera.

Hornz vs. Rockies

Rain Out ... since there was no communication... and I dont listen to my wife when she says 'you're game is going to be cancelled' .. I drive to OP... run into a few rocks... bake, keith and I get to toss the ball around... and shoot the sheet.. a bit... cant wait for next week...

Hornz vs. Cardinals

Hubble holds the horn's bats at bay... goes 5 strong innings... JP does the same to the card's bats... cards have two on, 2nd and 3rd... ground ball to short... check the runner go to first -- right?... not... ball hits 'ramp' and hops right over my cap... freaky... cards score two ... go up 2 zip... we get one next half ... then .. in the ninth, score 2-1... the bottom of the order.. namely top and landle... step up and get the job done... top gets on with single... not sure what the batting order was... but I know we had an automatic out for ryan getting tossed... so we have one out... top steals 2nd... landle smacks the ball thru 1st and 2nd... scoring top, tying the game... I remember 'new daddy' landle getting to third... and someone else on 2nd... (pyscho?)... someone else gets a single... scoring our other two... great wood game with the cards. Game Ball - Landle.


















April 12
Tribe vs. Hornz
Horns win 13-1 in an all wood showdown with the Tribe of Lutherville. The game started out slow, as the starters for both teams held the bats to a lot of wooden singles. Then it all busted open for the Horn bats... as the Indian pitchers started to get too much of the plate... (not sure if there were 4 walks in this whole game, another attribute of wooden bats?)... the tribe scored some runs thanks to the shabby play of the horns shortstop... who let TWO golden-double-play-balls over-and-under his glove for ROE/RBI hits. All in all ... it was a good game from our side... lots of bp and fielding opps. Good job hornz!

Hornz vs. Dodgers

Horns win 2-1 in a great all wood game. (I really need someone else to write something about the games... but here goes...) Horns score two un-earned runs in the 2nd(?)... Dodgers get great pitching... but could not score on the new Longhorn, Jason -- who -- shut them out for five innings... (will anyone be able to type that again this season? I seriously doubt it.) Thanks for the great pics Paint!
